Getting to the Meeting place / Parking

The Workshop will take place in the Illini Union, which is situated in the middle of UIUC campus (1401 W. Green Street, Urbana) (Note that the Illini Union is positioned on the western boundary of Urbana, which is separated from Champaign by Wright street. Green street runs through both Urbana and Champaigh and the use of West Green and East Green street can become a bit confusing).

The workshop will be held in the Northern (facing Green Street) side of the Illini Union. The reserved room is 404 (fourth floor, elevator is in the NW side of the Illini Union). Because of unexpectedly high attendance og this workshop the Workshop can actually be held in a bigger room 407, which is just across the hall from 404).

Pickup

We will organize the pickup from the entrance of Chancellor hotel (~8:30). Because a lot of people will have their (rented) cars, and about 1/3 of participants are from Urbana-Champaign area, getting everybody from the hotel to the Illini Union should not be a problem.

If you are NOT staying in Chancellor Hotel and need a ride to the Illini Union - please let us know beforehand!

Driving/Parking

    Driving from the Chancellor hotel to the Illini Union is quite straightforward (see map below or PDF file). From the Chancellor hotel turn North (left) on the Neil street. Drive ~3/4 miles to the Green Street (the second traffic light, not counting one on the intersection of Kirby and Neil). Turn right (east) on Green street and drive about a mile. After the third traffic light you will be right next to the Illini Union. Unfortunately there is no free parking right next to the Union. Therefore you have to drive East a few block more (to the next traffic light) to Goodwin avenue and turn right (South) there. On both sides of Goodwin avenue there are labeled off-street University Parking areas (which are free on weekends).

    Please do not park on the streets next to parking meters. They are NOT FREE on Saturday.
