GEOLOGY 117 - THE OCEANS

COURSE GRADING- Main Section

Grades are based on the scores on the three hour exams and the final exam. The points and corresponding percentages are listed below:

Optional extra-credit paper: 0 to 50 points (0 to 10%). (only exceptional reports will get the maximum.)

Final course grades will be assigned according to the following scale for total accumulated course points. Fractional point totals will be rounded up BUT PERCENTAGES WILL NOT BE ROUNDED UP.

Because of a vote of the students attending the first lecture, there will be no + or - grades given, only straight letter grades (A, B, etc.). The numbers below are after the final results.

Scores for exams will be available on the Campus Gradebook, an electronic grade book accessible over the campus network. You can view your scores using the Gradebook at any CCSO public site or from your own computer either via the web or with software you can download from CCSO. The special software gives you better access to more features of gradebook like the distribution and tables of grades. You should check your scores regularly to ensure that our records agree with yours. Please report any discrepancies immediately.
